About Palmetto Springers

Palmetto Springers Kennels began when we acquired our first English Springer Spaniel from Vidair Dogs in Six Mile, South Carolina.  While 2006 marked our official beginning, the journey towards breeding quality dogs began much earlier.

Susan grew up in the low country of South Carolina with hunting dogs.  Her father bred and hunted a multitude of bird dogs over the years.  In fact her first "pony" was none other than a German Pointer named Spot.  Even after the death of her father she longed to once again love a dog of her own.

Chris grew up in the mountains of South Carolina with cherished pets Po Po and Moonshine and the moment he moved out during college acquired his own beautiful Cocker Spaniel, Madison.  Madison was bred twice and daughters Macy and Maddie took up residence with Chris' mom and Susan's sisters, respectively.  Madison outlived both his girls and died after being a huge part of our family for over 17 years.

After a little over a year without a dog we decided to seek out the perfect companion to add to our family.  It was important to us that our daughter Milly grow up with the same love for dogs that we had.  Along came GRITS, our beautiful and loving ESS.  She has been an absolute delight and a model of what a Springer is supposed to be.

It wasn't long until we knew that this breed was a perfect fit for our family and we contacted Vivian at Vidair and got our male, Ford.  He is just as beautiful and full of vivacious energy, the perfect field variety Springer.  How could we not join the spirits of these two magnificent animals to provide quality, loving members of this outstanding breed for others.

Palmetto Springers Kennels is born.
